Puntland is the real Somali govt. The SFG is Somali govt in name only or ceremonial, those dudes can't even control their villa Somalia xaafad how is that given maqaam sare or qaran status when in reality they are weaker then our local governments. Run ayaa ficane but PL controls 1/3 of Somalia, where as villa Somalia neighbourhood is shared control with Shabab/AMISOM/UN forget the rest of Mogadishu or the south.

We as Puntites are against the idea of centralism even if the capital and presidency was given to us, we don't want a repeat of what happened by putting all Somali eggs in one basket, arintu waa qadiyad not clan agendas as you think.
Thru federalism we mitigate the risk of central collapse, we can allow for HS/GM to remain in disorder while other regions progress, it caters for all ppl who are progress focused vs those who don't want progress so this limits isqabqabsi and time waste.
Pure Federalism is a beautiful political equation allowing clans who don't want to move forward stay stuck and be our Mississippi region without impacting other clans who want to move forward, it accommodates those who love dawladnimo while also accommodating anarchist to keep their shit to their region. Future is centralism under a commitee government, its how history tends to go. If not a commitee government then a government by force of arms where one man/woman finds a way to unify different sects of somali society under him and takes out every clan/'dowlad' one at a time.
Federalism wont last... its safe for the short forseeable future, but modern internet, ambitious educated individuals that see beyond clan, and fast information deciphering will always make it weak and fragile especially when were all homogenous.
Ofc the alternative is Shariah law under khawaarij but we all know somalis wont accept that.
