:ufdup: Can paying people to point fingers stop terrorism?

We really need a "FAR FIQ" Movement in Somalia.

50,000 People can be payed $100-200 a month to just say "Waa Kaas".

For $10million dollars a month; and software or website people can communicate
with the government with, we might be able to get some work going in Somalia.

I would love to contribute $100 a month to sponsor a "Far Fiqer".

What do you guys think? Arming the military is one thing. But getting the public involved is another.

Dude it would be an Amazing software, with interesting audit controls.

Let's say 4 different people from different clans give a tip. That would be a hot tip and a team would investigate the individual. After an interview you take their DNA sample and finger prints and log them into a database.

You kill two birds with one finger : Get a national DNA criminal database and paranoid would be terrorists.

its all well and good until people get greedy and start pointing fingers at Innocent people just to keep the tap open. we already know the lengths Somalis go to scam governments.

I'm sure if government officials were interested in doing that, it would have already come up in a brainstorming meeting. The fact is, some people on the higher ups are financially benefitting from these attacks. Theres no way intelligence hasn't already picked up on terrorists. Somalis are naturally suspicious as it is. Everyone is guilty to them.

This is a problem too. Somalis are petty when they beef. A simple neighbor dispute can end in them trying to pin terrorism charges on an innocent person.

I think it would be easier if maybe you try to win people's hearts and minds first. Funding the public sector and focusing especially on education would dissolve many problems.

Great idea but with two major problems. First, as someone above pointed, Finger fiiqi needs to be trustworthy. Most importantly, somalia’s 2017 budget is $270,000,000. This budget includes running hospitals, schools, departments, the military, police, public service and politicians wages, where will the funds come from? The problem we have is the lack of a cohesive national army that can represent the whole country. The international community doesn’t want to arm a clan militia be it in Mogadishu, Bosaaso or in Kismaayo. Somalia’s best chance is the government to take in tens of thousands of orphan children from all over the country, then brainwash them with patriotism, within a decade or two, you will have young men and women willing to die for their country. Long term plan for nation building is urgently required.
