Nobiin is Nilo Saharan. It could be a remnant of a dead Afro-Asiatic language that is the commonality.

Eastern Cushitic did influence Nubian. That is a topic for another day.
How did east Cushites influence the Nile?

I'm not sure about Nobiin language but i'm sure that the Nubians are language shifted Cushites.
