Palestinian/Muslim debate on Twitter

If you’re active users on Twitter than you most likely have seen this Tweet. A well known Palestinian Christian journalist who worked at Al-Jazeera was shot by Israeli police a few days ago. As Muslims, we are not allowed to pray and seek Allah’s forgiveness for those who died as disbelievers, even if they are your own parents and siblings. A Morrocan girl from the UK spoke the truth and she’s getting harassed and bashed all over Twitter and had to make her account private.

What do you think?

You can’t pray for non believers which a lot of liberal Muslims need to understand but there are ways to handle it to maintain respect and decency. Praying that Allah will make it easier for their families would be appropriate

There were many non Muslims who went to jannah. There was even a prostitute who went to paradise because she gave water to a thirsty dog. Allah is merciful .

We dont make duas for Kuffar who passed away as they disbelieved in Prophet Muhammad pbuh.
And neither do we insult them.

We say: Condolence

In regards to the hadith about the prostitute that went to jannah, I don't think the hadith says whether she was Muslim or not.

edit:

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “A prostitute had once been forgiven. She passed by a dog panting near a well. Thirst had nearly killed him, so she took off her sock, tied it to her veil, and drew up some water. Allah forgave her for that.

Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 3321, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2245

I don't think it's known for sure either way whether she was Muslim or not.

Shirk cannot be forgiven therefore it is impossible that she was a non-muslim
