Palestinian Christians

I know this is gonna sound real dumb but f*ck it, how on earth can they still be christian knowing alot of them support israel. Like the only group of people, who have stood beside you are muslims. Now I get obviously that muslims countries haven’t been doing anything and that obviously to be a muslim you have to believe in the islamic doctrine. But hell if I had the unconditional support of a religious group best believe the least I can do is look into their beliefs.

What you said isn't dumb at all it's actually very real. They are called evangelical zionist christians. Growing up they’re taught that Jews are “god’s chosen people.” They put Israel on a pedestal, like it’s sacred. To them the land of Israel is holy because of the bible, they see supporting Israel as part of their faith.

When October 7th happened, i saw a christian zionist on Pinterest. She made a post praying for Israel. I commented, “you’re a clown. Go pray for your christian brothers and sisters in Palestine.” They ignore the christians in Gaza and the West Bank.

Why? because to them Palestine = Muslims
They forget there are many Palestinian Christians too

evangelical christian’s have been cucked by yahood, only in america where the christian’s are evangelical, palestinians christians do get support from european christian’s but it seems barely because europe is now atheist

Belief has no correlation with human compassion anyone can be compassionate to others. Evangelical Christianity is largely controlled by Zionist this also doesn't mean all Christians are zionists. Lastly as a Somali why are you concerned about other communities and their faith choices?

L take, it's like comparing apples to oranges, they are completely different sects which is much older than Evangelicalism, which branched off Protestant Christianity in the 18th century, while Palestinian Christianity traces its roots back to the first century CE.

It's a completely different sect, history and tradition from Christian Zionists in the West like the Evangelicals. Why should they give up an ancient tradition like Greek Orthodox or Eastern Orthodox that in most cases predates any Christianity in Europe because some Western Christians are nutty? Should all Muslims leave Islam because of some nutjobs like Baghdadi?

Arab Christians are also quite unique among Christians. They speak Arabic, of course, so they even refer to God already as "Allah" in their day to day speech, and use a lot of dhikr terms and are usually pretty familiar with Islam because the Arab states they grow up in usually have compulsory religion classes that are basically Islamic studies classes. Some of them borderline culturally act Muslim and might fast during Ramadan or at least celebrate Eid with their Muslim friends. They don't feel the need to convert beyond this and that's their choice and business.

They are Arab or an other Levantine Christian groups that became thoroughly Arabized, although that seems to be reversing, with more and more identifying as Aramean, Assyrian, and Phoenician, to name a few.

There also were Arab Christian pre-Islamic kingdoms, and we do know that a subsection of Arabs became Christian in the early first millennium. These were the Ghassanids, and their territory overlapped with what is now the Levant. The Lakhmids themselves were also an Arab Christian empire along what is now called Iraq and northeastern Saudi Arabia.

On the question of "are they Arabs?" well, yes, because they self-identify as Arabs and are viewed by others as Arabs. But identity is a fluid thing. The Arab Christians of Iraq and Syria are now completely disengaging from their Arab identity. Under Saddam they were proud Ba'athist, but if you ever meet an "arab" christian from iraq/syria nowadays they will turn angry if you ever call them arabs.

Arab identity is a fluid, a patchwork of Semitic groups whose unity was based on language and religion. However, an identity that is easily expanded is also one that is easily eroded. North Africans are now starting to view themselves more as descendants of Berbers. The same could be said for the Levantine and Egyptian peoples who now identify more with their pre-arabized ancestry.
