There is a Somali shop in my area, I went there to buy few things as I always try to support local Somali shop. This lady ahead of me done full shopping and she says igu qor. He bring up big book with all the people who take stuff now and pay later and he says btw you owe 60 pound. They have a bit back and forth nothing big but she trying to deny. Anyway waa lagu qoray

And I kept thinking this is not a way to run business. My point being Somali super mall. How many would pay just the monthly rent in time with no drama?

Apparently, the reason the proposal flopped was due to the qabil of the person who proposed it? If I ain't mistaken. They wasn't having it on the pretext of "Oh he is from this and that".

Its a never ending cycle, how many of the elders shops are open? Coffee shops and retail shops? Once the child get a hold of the store, it crumbles and gets sold. Even if this generation, who "claims to be woke from Qabil" manages to open a super mall, whose to say it will remain for generations.

Younger generation fails to prepare for the future generation and so, repeats the cycle. The first wave of immigrants, what happened to all of the coffee shops, internet cafe? It got sold, once the Father/Mother gained enough money, and went back home. There used to be a famous restaurant called Jazzera in London. People used to come from far just to eat from there. Somalis are jelaac towards other Somalis and then Somalis abuse this jelaac behavior. I know women with abaya and dirac businesses who sell to local habayars. The customers do not pay on the day. They take the items and pay maybe a week later. I can imagine, they have issues with women who 'forget' to pay or even women who lie about paying.

That happens at the Arab Somali mall too and pretty much every Somali run business as well. Even here in Canada. The Somali dayn system works because people always pay back. They know each other they don’t give freebies to people they don’t know.
