This is false, Wardey Oromos owned the whole of Gedo and large parts of the lower Jubas and NFD, Mareexan Somalis first came and settled peacefully in the 17th century and lived along side the Wardey, eventually in the 19th/18th centuries when they gained enough strength and power from many migrating subs they completely conquered the region all the way to Wajir and parts of Garrisa and as far as Jilib, you can go ask Mareexan about their ancestors history in the region and they will tell you they settled with the Oromos first and then conquered, Ceel Waajir was founded by Mareexan as well but were kicked out because of the British. The reason there are Mareexan and Ogaden in Isiolo county is because of recent expansion in the 21st century and the reason they reduced so much in size is because they were exterminated and absorbed by Ogaden. Jubaland and Liban was first settled by Reer Xassan Mareexan from Nuugal who were looking for grazing land.
I asked for evidence and all you did is down vote and write a bunch of nonsense? You know next to nothing about the history of the juba and you've been fabricating false history such as somalis establishing addis ababa. Do you even know what the name means? Where did all these warday who supposedly ruled all this lands disappeared into? Warday we're literally small in number which european explorer duly noted in their time.

Adis Ababa didn't always have that name, it was originally called Finfine, and of course the Wardey were a minority they were literally enslaved massacred and absorbed, till the British came and saved them and they migrate to the west side. Mareexan and Ogaden would literally run in to town after town killing and they would mass marry them and absorb many of them. You don't know anything about the Juba region, go ask a person from Jubaland and they will tell you, at first Mareexan settled with Wardey, previous to that they dominated the whole region.

Evidence???????

@Garaad diinle Many of them were absorbed, loads of them got killed and their women were forcefully married to Ogaden. There are also many books which detail the conquest and the war Mareexan and Ogaden had with Oromo, that's why they live west of the NFD and are so small.

Somalis in Kenya are learning Swahili and moving to places like Nairobi, Eldoret, Mombassa and Nakuru.

We have a secret plan to take over Kenya and blend in with them.

You see how stupid that sounds.
I never said they have a plan I was just sharing a funny story
:mjlol:

When i asked you for evidences i was expecting some sort of historical documents admitting that oromo are native to the area or that they own the place. No one is denying the conquest of the warday what i'm arguing here is warday was easily conquered because of their small number and that they are not native to the area.

I'll share some sources in hopes of enlightening you. Jerónimo Lobo a portuguese recorded as far back as 500 years ago and was an eye witness to the oromo expansion that their number weren't large even back then.

He then speaks of maracatos a muslim people that lives north of juba meaning the gedo region.

The maracatos stayed muslim up until the 19th century ruled by the gasaargude and the marehan ogaden digaodia garre gobwin kilio and other somali lived their. The marehan that you're talking about attacking borana were doing so deep into the borana region. Somalis specially somali traders were traveling deep into borana territory for trade up into the lake abay while others were doing raid on them. The gasaargude were the official rulers of the area and stayed that way up until the colonists took over. The sultan of the gasaargude even sent letters to the colonial powers.

Letter of Gasaargude Mirifle Sultan of Luuq Ganaane to Vittorio Bottego, leader of the italian Expedition

To the most honored and dear friend Mr. Frengi , God guide you. After the greeting we make you observe that you have crossed lands that are ours. What has been has been; but when you receive this letter, you leave our domains, because we are a free people and more Muslim. You believe that we are afraid of you; but we do not fear you. We are an independent government down to the ancestors, and in our country there are many soldiers who travel for five months. And do you think we are weak? We do not want to make war on you: however, if you do not listen to these speeche, you'll deaö with the full might of our government The country is ours, not yours.
From the Sultans of the land of Luuq large and small , On the 5th of Muharran 1311/ 16. July 1893

Yeah the sultan of Lugh used to rule and mediate between many different somali clans and even oromo around lugh ganane
Somalis living in southern nfd 400 years ago were called by the inhabitants of the siu island in the lamu archipelago to help them against the the kingdom of pate. Where were the warday then? The somalis stayed as rulers up until 1860s when the siu king tried to take over and rule over them. They then called for omani help to preserve their powers.

Even Turnbull himself that your quoting said that gedo were under the rule of gasaargude.

Wardey admit that they are not native to the area and in fact the warday living west of the tana say that they arrived from borana region down to the tana where they meet somali clans who they absorbed and learned islam from.

Ay if we’re being honest Muslim oromos and other Muslim Cushitic Ethiopians and Eritreans are the only group of people who think highly of Somali people and Somali culture, yet oromos are enemy number 1 lol. Most Somalis in Somalia at least think very highly of Arabs and Yemen and are always on the net talking about “Somalia and Yemen are brothers” as god as my witness I have never seen a yemeni say the same ever, I know not all Somali people are like this tho so since my dad married and mom so it’s all good
Oromo speaking somali vs Yemeni speaking somali

The opinions on here are usually far from the general Somali public consensus. It’s easy for the online world to spread propaganda and increase hate.

In real life, I see that Oromo’s and Somalis are very close and hang out all the time. It makes sense when you’re so culturally similar. I’ve had good experiences with both Christian and Muslim Oromo’s.

I don't know why people are pressed about oromos most of You literally do the same with arabs. :westbrookwtf:

The only people in the horn who like us enough to learn our language and culture h yall are mad :mjlol:

If you say so, why are oromo annexing territories that rightfully belong to somali you see, oblivious you're not from the galbeed, you're probably oblivious to what has been done to those innocent somali. You have a nonchalant attitude that I can tell from your response I get it's not your "qabil land" that is getting snatched from you, so why would you care. The only braindead person here is you to blatantly dimiss something so proveable that it is quite literally making question if you're actually somali but an oromo. Next time, I want you to keep your mouth shut when talking about the affairs of my people. I DON'T CARE IF THEY ARE MUSLIMS AFAR AND OROMO HAVE BLOOD IN THEIR HAND AN WALLAH BIlAH I WOULD'VE BETTER CAMARADERIE THAN TO SOMALI CHRISTIAN THAN TO THOSE ETHNIC NATIONLIST WHO CALL THEMSELVES MUSLIMS

Fax most Somali people my age don’t react at all when I tell them my mom is Oromo, only older people have, idk why but this lady at the karmel mall asked me what I was and I was like “Somali iyo oromo” and she kept insisting on asking what qabil my dad was, and when I said sheekhash she lowkey snickered a lil. I didn’t think anything of it back then but now I think she probably uses it as some sort of FKD talking point idk

Off topic but there were once a lebanese man with his child in an area filled with somalis. I was looking at him with curious eyes so he noticed me and sat beside me with his son and started speaking what looked like fluent somali i was beyond shocked wallahi i didn't know what to say. I think he was actually laughing at my reaction.
Why were you looking at hhpppp

Oromos are good people, they’re welcome to learn our language. Somalis created the world’s poorest country and failed state which is why they love blaming others for their mistakes.
