Because karanle are still the majority in Babile but when these oromos eventually outnumber the locals then thats when their plan starts. Correct me if I'm wrong but there is a whole refuge camp called qoloji which compromises of somalis and most of them fled from their cities in hararghe (most of which is now in oromia but it is historically Somali land) so they wouldn't get killed. I remember watching a video of some woman living in qoloji and her story was really sad. The oromos in her town basically told her you either become one of us or we kill you and so she had to flee with her family leaving behind her business and everything she worked hard for. Now qoloji is basically a mini city filled with idp camps and these gallas are now trying to takeover the camp which literally compromises of ppl fleeing from their violence ( I'm pretty sure there is a thread of this here in SS). All I'm trying to say walaal is that these oromos are a threat to us, if you go to Adama rn and tell ppl your somali it probably won't end good for you the cuqdad these ppl have for us is unbelievable. And you also said there are a lot of oromo muslims (which is true) but these same "Muslims" are the ones committing genocide to somalis in somali galbeed especially hararghe. The reason you don't hear of this is because foreign media outlets are forbidden to enter somali galbeed and so these atrocities are happening without any media coverage. There is literally no difference between them and Israelis and they still have the heart to call themselves Muslims. May Allah curse every single galla expansionist and inshallah they all go naar
I dont know much of babile since my clan isnt from there. its my mums hooyo clan that lives there. Idk if im right but didnt karanle and other somali clans not choose oromia instead of galbeed? On top of that oromos do live there and have a sizeable population.

When it comes to oromos as I said before I stand by my words. Its an entire ethnic group bigger than ours with different peoples and clans and cultures. Mock individuals not a whole group of people. I would say may Allah deal with those oromos who have the mindset to encroach on our lands and to harm innocent somalis.

There is nothing inherently wrong with wearing other cultures clothing but I have noticed when something isnโ€™t negative it is talked about under the โ€œEast Africanโ€ umbrella but when itโ€™s negative itโ€™s clearly labeled as Somali.

I will say this though, Oromos seem to be integrating with Somalis learning the language, culture and moving to a Somali dominant areas but are quick to speak negatively about them and cause trouble.

The karanles in galbeed are noble geeljires and are proud somalis, basically rn babile is split into 2 there's one part of babile in oromia and the other is in DDS. What happened was the other clans such as the jaarso that lived with the karanles in the now called oromia part of babile voted to join oromia since nowadays they are fully assimilated and are only somali by blood whilst the karanles and other clans such as deri kombe refused. The votes were probably rigged anyways so there was nothing they could do abt it. And I agree it's not good to generalise entire ethnic groups but unfortunately these expansionists and not a minority especially the ones living in hararghe the oromos that live in west oromia probably have no connections with somalis and they are mostly Christians and their culture is heavily influenced by habeshas. The only reason I created this account was because I saw a thread here on SS and it was a Somali man whose village was ravaged by these heartless oromos and he saw kids being burnt alive by them. Since the president of Ethiopia is now an oromo he lets all of this happen and turns a blind eye to it since he knows no one can do anything about it and it's why he banned foreign media outlets to enter the region so none of this could be exposed

I dont care if oromo wear our culture clothes in my opinion im just mad the fact that some reclaim it as theirs and make some orgin story abt it but there would be outrage if we wore their clothing saying itโ€™s our orgins and it has deep roots to us and waaqa blah blah

also somalis are part to blame you made it widely accessible for folks to buy up even Ugandans wearing Hido daqan.

Wait till you guys find Afars also wear duruc. Please be careful I don't want you guys to have seizures !

HA Activist.
a lot of East Africans like it because is very comfortable/suitable for hot climates
This is also because it's a relatively recent form of cultural attire that emerged during the era of modern globalization. Its diffusion and popularization in the region is logically inevitable. Same thing happened with coffee, qat, tea so on so fourth.

What pisses me off about these other East Africans is theyโ€™ll call us crazy and say โ€œwhatโ€™s wrong with Somalis?โ€ whenever we call out their cultural appropriation.

East African culture this East African culture that and when Somalis rightfully correct them, suddenly itโ€™s โ€œand where is Somalia located?โ€. They gang up against Somalis while they steal, discredit and copy us. Theyโ€™d rather credit Arabs and Indians for our clothes than admit they look up to us for inspiration. East Africans have never shared a singular culture. Copying Somali women isnโ€™t a shared culture.

These people are actual vultures. Jealous Somali women wannabes
