Can someone explain to me why oromos are called galla, isn’t that a Somali word if so why do habesha also use that word to refer to oromos is well. What’s the history with this word and is it a Derogative word. Are afars also called that

Oromo is a relatively new endonym, they were historically called galla by their neighbors. Guess its derogatory same way n1gger and negro are for jareeers. Afars aren't galla.

the term outsiders use for Afar's is Dankiil. Oromo's are also called Galla by Habeshas
