Couldn't have said it any other way. There is nothing much to expect from the regional government of dds since it's a puppet of addis. Many somalis are in need of development in somali galbeed there is nothing special about aw bare. Somalis must unite not join the oromia regional government, we've already seen what happed to somali that live among oromos. This is the map that best approximates what the borders are like in Fafan. Oromia simply want to implement the results of the 2024 referendum. This will result in many exclaves and enclaves. Lafo Ciise was always going to be the border. The Jaarso near there voted for Oromia in 2004. This is also why Oromia think they have a right to Marar as the Jaarso outnumbered the Geri there in the 2004 vote.

The referendum didn't really depict results according to size of the local population. The format and process of the referendum was very flawed. Which is the reason why Oromia don't control many on the areas they claim, in particular that Geri inhabits, irrespective of the referendum results.

The solution to the conflict will only end with a political settlement, which will be different to the referendum (even though it may be used as a framework).

Oromia have tried to establish their 'authority' on our land, but everytime they've tried, we've rejected and not uncommonly erupted in fightings. They subsequently have had to withdraw.

Today for instance, the Oromia Jinacsani district (not including Tuli Guleed district) claims 51 kebeles after the referendum, but they don't control many of them. And we won't succumb to them either. The conflict can only end on our terms, but our demands have not been met.

Y'all gotta understand Jigjiga will be going down with us if we ever joined Oromia and they turn on us. Our districts (Dambal +Awbare) literally surround Jigjiga. And even overtake it eventually and turn it into a chartered city.

You don't even have to mention SL, just look at those land that joined Oromia 20 years ago. They are barely recognizable as former Somali territory. Not that I care, since they willingly became part of the 'Oromo nation', but that's the fate awaiting them if they would follow in the same footsteps.

I find it so funny whenever some of them tries to argue you with the talking point, 'Oh, it's just another administration they are joining. Both regions are still part of Ethiopia and nothing will change' etc. as if they are joining another Somali region.

Like how are you trying to lie to me. You may now be ruled from Addis, but look at the significant changes in places like Baabili city, Funyan Bira and other areas. They are becoming more Oromo and less Somali. More Oromos settling there, Oromo being the main language spoken there, at schools, in the streets and more Somalis assimilating into Oromia.

They don't even have the rights as a minority. They were running away from Jigjiga so quickly that they forgot to think about their own long-term future. Even Oromos in the Amhara region have their own special zone which safeguards their rights as minority. Some of the Somalis are regretting now. Not to mention the 100k displaced Somalis in IDP camps today in DDS, from fightings with Oromos in Oromia.
