Oromo were in the Afar region, but the Afar and the Ethiopian army expelled them and they entered the Somali region.
At least they are fighting against Ethiopia, not like the Somalis who fight each other over pastoral lands.

Entered the Somali region? This is not true they fled to Shewa. From what I can tell their main forces in Wollo and Afar ran to Shewa and they then immediately used these forces to expand their operations in Shewa. It probably* was a new unit raised in E. Hararghe that was used.

Firstly they did not have experience as is displayed in their rapid defeat when real forces arrived (and them struggling against armed civilians), secondly no Oromo from literally anywhere in Oromiya except Hararghe, Bale, and Borana would ever take livestock with the intention of bringing them home.

ONLF and OLF used to be best buds idk how this happened, unless either the OLA’s organizational structure has disintegrated to such a degree that local clan beef (Hararghe Oromo vs Dir) can take precedence over general policy OR the ONLF itself greenlit this (unlikely).

In some cases ONLF and OLF soldiers were in the same trenches against Woyane tyranny…. it seems people don’t remember why the Woyane terrorists fell and because of this Abiy Ahmed will stay in power until he is a old man.

The Oromo and Somali regions are no longer bearing the brunt of Ethiopia’s state violence and are actually seeing some development. OLF sees a weak and divided Somali people. Somalia is an occupied and fragmented paper state. Djibouti is ruled by an obese dictator who sees nothing beyond his belly and his pockets. This makes Somalis an effectively stateless people despite having two countries. They smell blood in the water and want to take advantage.

OLF/OLA is being hammered in Oromiya and was totally booted from multiple territories not long ago, DDS is not a target for them. Also this raid clearly did not have the intention of taking land but of taking loot- this shows their weakness not their strength.

If you do not know of PAFD then I am afraid you have no right to speak on Ethiopian politics. Even the most ignorant uncle in all of Ethiopia knows of the time the Somali, Oromo, and Sidama rebels threw aside their differences and fought together to overthrow the Woyane dictatorship.

This was not on the Somali Liyyu, this is 100% on the local ENDF contingent in Diridhaba, Harar, and Hararghe . It is an act of severe incompetence to allow a organization which does not even have a single base in the area you are protecting to bypass you and attack. A total lapse in security is the only thing that explains an undetected buildup/recruitment of forces, a total lapse in organization is the only thing that explains the lack of communication between the ENDF and Somali Liyyu and between the ENDF itself.

Utter incompetence!

Also even if they wanted to collect intel on Oromiya and Diridhaba they cannot do it legally as that is not in their jurisdiction- possibly Abiy could let it slide as he has a great personal relationship with Cagjar.

True but this started in the somali rural areas of diridhaba it's not hard to have a base in shinile and keep tabs on the borders.
