To those in Murica, how did you avoid it? What excuses did you use?

Just say during the interview process that you hate thugs and want them off the street. Imply that you are biased and that you will side against the offending party before even looking at the case.

What’s wrong with it? Just do it.

I’ve always been curious about it, I personally would welcome this. As long as it’s just petty crime or something small. I’d hate to be the jury judging some well known criminal with a vast network. Don’t want a target on my back like the days of Al Capone.

I made my friend call the toll number and inform them that i can be a juror because my English is horrible

And my employer would even fully compensate us for jury duty too. But I’ve never gotten the letter

Yes. It is a felony and you also have to pay fine.
