Why?

It is awesome.

It reduces hassle when doing business, you get to move around within Europe without barriers (more opportunity), and Erasmus scholarships.

Do you live in any European country?
I live in Sweden and the EU is absolutely horrid.

1. It is constitutionally unstable.
2. Its existence in current form causes inequalities it is unwilling or unable to mitigate in current form.
3. It doesn't seek or enjoy clear democratic consent to do anything about either of the above.

Another really bad thing about the EU is its inability to enforce some minimal standards in matters that really matter.

• UK has been granted one special exception after another for 40 years
• Italy and Greece got accepted into Euro club by falsifying the balances and never got “punished” for it. OK, they self-harmed so maybe that's enough.
• Ireland has been giving illegal tax breaks to big foreign companies for years too.
• Poland and Hungary have been breaking the rules related to human rights, legal system and freedom of press for years before finally some actions were set against them. It's unclear how effective this will be.

I'm biased though.. I have received a couple of thousand euros directly from the EU. I am paid off. I don't see it as a troublesome organization as some make it out to be.
