Even then they want to extract profits from those strategic assets, that requires proper management and investment.
It's not that simple unfortunately.
There's little money to be made in Somalia so their main focus is to neutralize Somali domestic businesses so that we don't compete with them across the region.
Our banking sector would be outright owned by them so good luck in trying to finance your Somali company.
Our country will be flooded by foreign products so good luck in trying to have a home base which your Somali products would have it's core demand from.
They'll enforce an open trade policy so our farms will be uncompetitive when compared against European food products or qashin from other places.
In the end we won't develop our own industries because everything would end up uncompetitive unless we invest billions in order to make up that gap.
That won't be possible unless the banking sector has the interest of Somalia in mind...
This isn't a simple transactional decision but instead giving up your fortress in an global economic war.
