Only investments can save PM Khayre, not politics

But the question is where and how will SWS break out? Like they are surrounded by Somalis all the way? I know that shariff sakin is not ethnic Somali.
They probably appeal to his non-Somali "arab" side, "we're arabs, let's control the Somalis together, you're the perfect person to lead them etc."
That's the usual b.s they give to pre-despots.

How will SWS breakout? Probably around PM Khayre's impeachment. Perfect time as the government will be in turmoil, the masses will be distracted, and he can justify it to the international community via/by advertizing the security and safety in his region.

That's a great idea, could even become the foundation for a national Bond market or Stock exchange. Shout out to Larry for that one. That's exactly the enterprising mindset a broke government needs.
What will the 10,000 benefit from it

What will the 10,000 benefit from it
Massive profits. Everyone on this planet needs food. There's always a market for agriculture and food products.

This would also make Somalis wealthy, instead of foreigners who (like the Somali telecoms companies have always done) ship all the profits (in $) out of the country and hide it in the UAE. Foreign owned agricultural projects like this would rob the country of the easiest ways to recover from poverty and war. The foreign agricultural companies would dominate the local supermarkets from Djibouti to Garissa.

each state for now should start bond markets to raise enough money for their own projects. also one thing i find amazing is the uk makes £500 billion from taxes alone, somalias goverment budget is 200 million. we should start a new taxing system

This is how governments fund infrastructure projects, through the bond market such as the US 10-year bonds etc.

Because of how much debt the Somali government has, the bond's would be rated junk status by the international ratings agencies, but it would work on a domestic level amongst Somalis. This could fix a lot of the governments problems, but in order to even introduce a modern domestic bond market, the country would need a modern Internet infrastructure.

The Somali government losses billions of dollars of potential foreign reserve currencies to capital flight per year, to the gulf countries, just from the telecoms companies and the livestock exporters alone.

This foreign reserve capital if held by the Somali Central Bank, could be used to purchase the needed agricultural products by government.

BREAKING DOWN 'Reserve Currency'
Holding currency reserves minimizes exchange rate risk, as the purchasing nation will not have to exchange their currency for the current reserve currency in order to make the purchase

Each state should start its own central bank atleast that way companies can keep the money local rather then all in mogadishu

No, this is inefficient. There should be one central bank for all of Somalia, but this isn't possible as long as the al-kebab funding telecoms companies have a monopoly on the dollar in Somalia. Most of the dollars that are used in Somalia, are transacted and kept through the "mobile payment systems" of the al-kebab funders. The government needs to take control of the dollar supply and deposit it in the central bank instead of it being flown to dubai on cargo planes weekly. This is why the FGS is impotent, at the moment. I do believe this will change though because otherwise the state will fall.

Imagine Chase Manhattan Bank controlling all the foreign currencies coming into America, or Barclays bank controlling and storing all the dollars coming into the UK. That's the situation in Somalia right now.

Update:

Looks like we have some great initiatives being taken by PM Khayre's administration to cut corruption and increase foreign investments.
Biometrics is definitely the way to go.

This is great, but there's still a ton of improvements to be made. The investment agency should be priority number ONE.

Next step for PM Khayre and the SNA, is to increase this biometrics budget slightly to register the biometrics of every single one of these foreign amisom rapists. That would cut amisom rape down to ZERO, if the bantus know that they can be traced.

what about a bond market for each state, every year the states bring forth a couple projects that are needed and get this raised by the public and investors. Berbera was bought for $400 million this could of easily been founded by the half a million somalilanders abroad, same can be said for puntland and others.

Or even a commerical bank for each state, like jubland commerical bank and hiraanshabble commercial bank and these banks keep a certain amount of hard currency in the central bank

These are usually called Municipal bond offerings. They work very well around the world in order to pay for needed infrastructure.

This has the capacity to work in Somalia as well, but not until you take control of the dollar supply in the country.

The al-kebab funders want to be the only wealthy people in Somalia, until their power over the money supply has been retaken, much will be left unfinished.

One way the government can overcome this, would be through setting up a separate payments system linked to a public account at the central bank of Somalia, to rival the mobile payments systems. This would actually work if put into practice.

Great stuff from PM Khayre.

Somali PM tells foreign ambassador to support Somalia on the economy and job creation

State Minister in the office of the Prime Minister Abdullahi Hamud spoke on the agreed points in the meeting between the federal government and the foreign ambassadors.

“It was a cross examination of what was achieved on the past 3 months and what we need from the international countries. What was discussed included economic creation needed in the country, review on the constitution, job creation where the PM spoke in depth about it and how to unify the economy of Somalia” said State Minister Hamud.

This is what I like to see. PM Khayre recognizing that he has a lot of power with regards to these foreigners, because they're all waiting to take of advantage of Somalia and its natural resources, once al-kebab has been defeated.

PM Khayre has now looked these ambassadors in the eyes as a proud Somali and told them to act. This takes cojones. Resources should be denied to any nation that doesn't support job creation for our youth, when we're temporarily down. We refuse to become another Nigeria with 170 million poor people, even though they drill millions of barrels per day since the 50's.

Big points for PM Khayre.

that $800 million dollar job creation fund for burkina faso would go a long way in somalia
It really would. Even 20% of that $800 could go a long way. Telecoms monopolies that have drained the country of dollar reserves should have their taxes backdated from the inception of the TFG. They took advantage of a weak government and they have made their wealth off of the backs of poor Somalis, so now they should pay what they owe.

The telecoms companies only pay $400.000 per annum. That's not even enough to run a few ministries by itself.

TFG inception = 2004

10% of all income earned annually (low and modest level,) backdated to 2004 = $400 Million....PER company......There's around 5 of them including hoormuud, which would be the one that would pay the highest amount.

That's a combined revenue of roughly $2.5 Billion dollars that could be used by the government to pay for education, health care and defense.

Same thing with dahabshill, that would equal over $500 Million available to the Somaliland central bank to combat drought and create jobs for the youth.

This would dwarf the $800 Mill in Burkina Faso.

the thing with Somalia/land is lack of banking people have no access to banks this lead to the telecoms companies and money transfer companies to provide a service that was niche at the time, example being zaad this basically made them into banks in a country that the government doesn't even have a bank, this did give telecom companies a monopoly on the dollar, this a reason why developed companies don't have mobile money since it gives a lot of money to the business when it could of been used in the government. These companies also use the tax money as donation too which makes them look better to the customers effectively killing two birds with one stone. Also i was thinking $800 million for the whole of somalia let alone just somaliland our whole nation is useless :ftw9nwa: Tax system is really needed but since most people get money cash in hand it's hard to tax this is an another reason why a banking system is needed.

Exactly, if the government wants to take full control of the money supply in Somalia, then the central bank should be the exclusive provider of mobile money. This requires digitization, which can come from new investments. This would be a game changer for the country, effectively cutting the greedy telecoms at the knees. This goes for SL as well.

The new tax system would compliment the central bank's mobile money. The government can easily ensure that people pay taxes, if they own the payment systems in the first place. Perhaps ban cash for a period of two years ans only allow a combination of credit cards and mobile money. This would give the government the power to control monetary policies for the whole country.

I saw in another thread, that the Federal government has banned all media statements that aren't approved. That was step one. Step two is taking control of the money supply.

President Farmaajo and PM Khayre are headed in the right direction at the moment. Great stuff.

I have a lot of ideas for Somalia as a whole and plans that could be useful and i'm sure you do too. I wished their was a think tank group or something in this forum that people could share ideas like this something private because all the good threads about ideas and development get posted two weeks later Ethiopia has done exactly what was proposed in the thread. Plus theirs a lot of business plans that can be made in this dysfunctional company if you chose to become like the telecom giants

Have you considered applying for a job with FG? They're hiring in the ministry for commerce with regards to investments.
We've brought up the separate section idea here before, look back in this thread, it got shot down quickly.

Why not start your own think tank, don't wait for anyone to do anything for you. This would give you the flexibility to steer it in your chosen direction. Connect and start it with like-minded people around you.

Choosing a telecoms company is definitely not the way to go, but the government need to regain the power balance with regards to the telecoms companies. But we have to look at this on a larger scale, every company should be taxed. Smaller companies should be given much much lower rates if they employ Somalis. All international companies are being taxed now due to President Farmaajo and PM Khayre. First time that foreigners aren't treated with privilege. Great work from the gov.

I've still got a year left in Sixth form bro, and applying for a job with the FG is a long-term goal maybe by 30's Ina Sha Allah. Somalia as a whole needs no monopolise basic business that were natural monopolies such as airlines and stuff like that. Also the Think tank idea is all good but where im from the youth would rather talk about 9bars a going ot, but i'll keep trying.

Tax is very important like i said the Usa gets 500 billion from taxes a year, thats 100 time the Somali GDP
