Oh so you discovered a radio shock, you do realise this is an act. I stumbled upon talk radio many years ago, and found them comedic, if sorely entertaining in slow days, and a window into the psyche of the average American in rural areas, and is very handy when one meets with poor rednecks in the sticks.

The likes of Savage, Limbaugh, Hannity etc all do this for two reasons:

• Gain notoriety with fridge elements of society, which in turn affords them popularity and access to mainstream,
• b) Enriching themselves with contracts, commercials, and syndication.

Larry Elder, who mentored Peterson is of similar sentiment, and it was all an act. So does Officer Tatum. It started with a guy in NY with a late night show, can not recall his name.
