On why civilization in Ethiopia and yemen only began after 1000 b.c

One of the biggest puzzles that has bothered me for the longest time is that why do we suddenly see kingdoms in Yemen and Ethiopia emerge at the same time almost simultaneously after 1000 b.c ? The solution to this puzzle was actually iron

Both Yemen and Ethiopia are highland regions which are suitable for agriculture. But for this agriculture to take place you have to clear the land . Before the invention of iron around 1200-1100 b.c. it was impossible to clear the dense forests covering the Highlands of Yemen and Ethiopia . Which meant agriculture could not take place and since you can't raise livestock in forests. The people in the Highlands could only live a hunter gatherer lifestyle

considering the aridity of Yemen even in the Highlands that means there was probably at most only a few thousand people in Yemen before 1000 b.c

This is also why we dont see indepent seafaring phonceian city states emerge till the iron age.

Cutting down dense forests for agriculture or ship-building purposes requires a large labor force. All equipped with axes to cut down trees in a pre-iron world your not gonna be able to equip large amounts of men with metal axes hard enough to cut down forests.

Maybe hunter gatherer wasnt the best description but there seems to have been a bronze age civilization strecthing from saudi arabia to the hadrahmut region. It was particularly dense around the coastal regions.

This civilization seems to have constructed tombs and archeture in a simialr style across the Arabian peninsula . They also seemed to share a singular art style which is present on the monuments in the region with there being this dagger style shared between all of them.

Although its a little diffent i cant help but see the similarities.
