One of the things the sheikh advised us during the khutbah at my local mosque was to not carry hatred in our hearts, even against non-Muslims since they are just mistaken; rather, we should detest sin rather than the sinners.
It gave off a lot of bibical Jesus vibes, but overall it was a great message.
