I think Bernie is the weakest link to face Trump at next year's elections and have you noticed how the right wing media is always focussing on his opponents? They want Bernie to win the nomination and easily decimate him as a nutty far left communist. In Western democracies, the far left (to my knowledge) has only gained office in Greece, while the right-wing populist parties are on a global march and thus reached even Brazil and other Latin American countries which were leftist heavens for many decades. Bernie will meet the fate of Corbyn. Hope you Yankees get wiser and learn a lesson from the British Labour Party and nominate someone else.

Senators numbers change every election season. Usually the party of the president lead the senate. Republicans lost the house. In 2014 the dems controlled the house and the senate. In 2020, most old repubs will be replaced by young dems.
