The Dutch somalis are better off in the Netherlands than in the UK in my opinion . Despite the housing crisis, the job market is really good at the moment. The healthcare seems better and studying in the universities are cheap where even the good universities offers good programs entirely in English. Even deen-wise it doesn't look so bad. The Netherlands seems like a lot better so I don't understand why the Dutch somalis wouldn't want to move back. Any ducth somalis here that would like to explain?

Amsterdam is hella expensive though and honestly, I would prefer the Hague or Rotterdam. The tourist are ruining the city and I can imagine it being annoying.

Dutch Somali here,

There were a lot of somalis who left The Netherlands for the UK around 2004. Their reasons varied from missing being in a Somali community to wanting to become self employed (theres a lot of bureaucracy here).



The job market is doing pretty good nowadays, finding a job isn't really hard especially in production, logistics etc. Pay is also good compared to the UK. Many companies would gladly train and invest time in their employees. I know some farax who works as an operator, his work is pretty chill.



There were a lot of Somalis who were on government welfare. In 2015 our government introduced a new law which basically states that the more adults you share an appartment with the less money you receive. If your on government assistance they'll force you to work, you can't sit on your fuuto at home.



I know a Somali woman in her 50s who has to help old people in elderly care to keep her welfare.

This is good news for us Aussies because after Brexit, we will sign a free trade agreement with Britain which our farmers will be the winners and on a special deal on visas after the free movement of E.U citizens comes to an end. @Jaydaan will be sent back to Rikenby in Stockholm and my dogs can stay in his council flat in Birmingham.
