Puntland Businesses with the help of the state need to start setting up offices in China to export and import fish into those markets. When CCECC states they will help you build a road it means they want something in return.
The road although boost trade and increases jobs and mobility from Garowe to Eyl, Puntlanders need to ask themselves a serious question: Why can’t our construction companies raise equity to build these roads?
Why aren’t we buying the graders, escavators and equipment to face these challenages ourselves and train the workers? If you look to China to help you build a simple road, it basically means to them you are incompetent in building your human capital to contribute to the construction.
If we buy the equipment from China, it increases employment for Chinese manufactures, if we tell them to build the roads as well, it boosts equity for Chinese companies investing.
The future of Puntlands economy will be through those who invest together in Private equities and raise capital together and return profits to Puntland shareholders.
We have a major problem in Puntland and it’s called “Landhernimo” where Puntlanders look down on working with thier hands. Young men want to be politicans instead of builders.
The biggest sleeping industries in Puntland are in construction and mechanical technicians. We can’t fix equipment when it breaks down because there aren’t companies who will fix them. We can’t fly in Chinese Welder’s, iron workers or heavy equipment operators because they can fix equipment, we need trades schools that can teach people how to fix these things.
When that road is finished, the first person to open a mechanic shop on that road will see what I’m talking about.

This is great walle reer Eyl deserve this road after years of neglect from the admins and kudos to them for starting building the road on their own all the way to Qarxis way before this current project. Reer Eyl along with Reer Buursalaax are some of the best PLers out there and should be rolemodels for the other districts.
