This is a good start tho dont you think ? HSM isnt a dictator he will be gone next year, suppose a better competent leader takes his place, he could do a lot with the airline and new airport projects HSM started, this will be a huge PR boost for Somalia if they also manage to beat Shabab after hsm

HSM is the type of guy that will cause a ruckus if he leaves. The guy is most certainly affiliated to AS in some way, and the his war on the terrorists is proof of that. His minister of justice was even cryptically bragging about sending our soldiers to die “akhiro aya la gayey”. HSM’s crimes are unforgivable, nothing good he does can fix the damage he has already done to Somalia. The country was already in a fragile state, but now there is more clan wars than ever before. He deserves arrest if he leaves office.
Hes just gonna go live in Doha or Dubai with the millions he stole like Farmajo, he won in this life but money wont buy him the akhira, + hes also running a third time and theres a big chance he wins if the rumours that he set up voting booths only in hawiye towns
Yes, he may not even leave, though if he doesn’t, Somalia will be truly lost.

Somalia is extremely poor, why waste the government's financial resources propping up a national carrier and directly competing with private airlines that could instead serve as a source of tax revenue?
We're also assuming as a precondition that the government would operate it with relatively little corruption, which is laughable under Hassan Sheikh's administration, and there's no guarantee it would even make a profit.
Now imagine it operates at a loss, and the government is forced to allocate crucial financial resources to subsidize it, while simultaneously cannibalizing the private air travel market that could have generated sustainable tax revenue? I still remain of the opinion that the American model is the way.
I agree but its all about the image they want to give, to be honest it all depends on the next administration

I under no circumstance will I book a flight with that airline. At least for international flights I can’t don’t much about domestic.
Major news channels like TRT Afrika have already posted about the news, if this turns out to be fake this will be the biggest ceeb of somalia this decade
