2dollar properties are mostly located in crime ridden areas..

why not get a loan for 50k, buy a condo for 250k. then rent the property out on airbnb, or locally. use your parents basement as an office and tax right off.

It is a game I am willing to pay, these homes and investment would allow me to continue with my education and is not a really big risk for now. Later on, when I am more capable, I shall do more properties. These are anyways neither a gain or a loss, just a life lesson. If it works, it works, if not, then it is a lesson

Basically a more of a test, since it is a one in a lifetime opportunity. And it is cheap too. So more of a investment.

Yep, pretty much any person can come and buy it if they are dedicated to refurbishing it

If you're going to pay for the refurb for two houses why not start a construction company to recoup your investment?

It's going to take a lot of your time to properly fix them up even if you're not doing the work.

You don't even need permanent full-time staff.

Just create a company, subcontract the work to other teams and use it as a case study for future jobs which you can outsource or scale up in your own time.


Refurb jobs tend to have some great margins for the contractors. Half a dozen projects and you'd make enough to buy more properties and you'll have the know how on how to profitably add value to them.
