This is Somalilands opportunity to reclaim East Sanaag - if they don't, they've lost it all together.
The same people that kicked them out for inaction now want their help to ensure peace in the area and stop whatever militia caused the recent bloodshed.
Well, I guess they didn't see this coming when they were ransacking the army barracks and the local troops deserting.
Where are those hundreds of troops which were the supposedly Somaliland Garrison of East Sanaag now.
If they are on PL payroll shouldn't they still be protecting the area or haven't they been paid.
At least with Somaliland you get peace - Dhulbahante conflicts hardly happen or are solved quickly. Dhumay only happened because the Army that was stationed there got told to move to Saaxdheer leaving no SL Army presence in Dhumay which a tribal militia saw as an opportunity to attack a warring clan.
Somaliland Armed Forces need reform and new leadership also better PR to be seen as peacekeepers
