If a Somali person speaks Arabic and practices Arab culture, then they are Arab, by definition. There is no dispute. You cannot argue this.

Arab countries clearly have their own culture as well, it is ovvious they are an ethnicity, i dont care who speak arabic

Arab is not an ethnic label sxb, it is a panethnic label. Arabism and Arabisation are two very strong movements, with both being very old.
The idea that one becomes an Arab due to speaking the language is not recent at all, and if what you were saying was true, then it means that the Prophet wasn't an Arab, only those living in Yemen are.

Literally all those in Morocco share with those living in Lebanon is language, and yet they are both considered Arab. Pan-arabism has led to this being the reality, and it's why many Somalis are considered Arab by Arabs.

Comparing Western ideas of ethnicity to Arab ideas of the Arab identity hardly makes sense. It's a very illogical analogy.

The fact that you feel embarassed by people of your own ethnic group identifying with another shows that you value the opinions of other groups over your own.
Why don't you quit feeling embarassed by people identifying with what they want to identify with and worry about yourself.

I was talking about the tribes that Khalid guy mentioned mentioned. But you're right not all of them were from the middle east laakin where they considered Arabs? NO, they were just referred to as the Sahaba.

Sxb the spread of the Arab identity is a direct result of early Arab muslim conquests. North Africans & Leventine folks have been culturally arabised, but they'll never be ethnically arab, there has been a rise in berber, assyrian nationalism in arabised states. Ethnic Arabs come from the Arab peninsula. If Somalis accept your notion then we'll basically be opening the door to full on arabisation & in a couple of decades become the next "sudan". Its very dangerous sxb.

Btw i knew that hadith would be weak. The prophet (saw) would never say such a thing.
