They have money. They get advanced loans & if they don’t make they gotta pay it back. They make money through merch, touring etc. But ultimately the label makes the most.

Do you remember the chick that sung ‘Gucci this, Gucci that’. Damn she owes $800,000 umm girl that’s probably a few houses. You can buy with that.

Its true rappers make alot of money from touring but its the record label that makes 5 times more than the rapper cause the music industry they structure the deal so that the label owns the masters of all songs created during that record deal

Alot performers don't own their masters the label does so they can use the artists songs in tv or advertisement and keep all the profits
