Now after we lost to Zim. Can we be honest?

Somalis just aren't good at national soccer.

We brought up diaspora kids for the first time and all it did was make us able to compete with first round(bottom 100) African teams and we still lost.

Just look at us athletically. The Zims were way bigger, stronger than us. Some of those players we put on the pitch had the same bodies as my friends from the masjid

What? These guys have never played with each other before and you could easily tell. I can already tell they had no game plan just by looking at how they where in each other’s paths most of the time. Plus how many of these guys are from the diaspora?

Plus “bigger, stronger” means nothing which is why African teams don’t do well. Don’t say ‘France has many black players’ either because those black players get taught to play the European style.

We dont even have government nor an actual national team, national stadium or an actually football association. We put together bunch of somalis and were 3 mins from advancing. We gave our all and thats all that can be expected. Several of these Zimbabweans play in south african league

Teams like Guniea or Senegal could put together a native squad who actively play senior football in major leagues or clubs.

They have academies which have contact with European scouts. it's also easy for francophone africans to get Visa to play sports in France, so that's why there are lots of African born players in ligue 1

Really unfair to compare them to us who mostly played with Scandinavian or US Somalis

Team wasn’t good enough, like I said players and coaches should at minimum play pro at the top league in there countries, from there you select a team that fits

Next generation of England Somalis looking nice. If they end up picking England though then it’s a wrap. I’ll still watch them domestically. England coaching has changed since the old days of ‘hoof ball’ so they’ll be light years ahead of the American somalis and a few years ahead of the Scandinavians

If they don’t make the premier league than there useless tbh and I’m not talking bench roles, most of these African nations have starters and stars

He’s a bench guy though we need starters and even a couple of stars tbh
You don’t get stars overnight though. It’s a process the lads young and he’s injured at the moment but hes already been taught by Stevie G for a while and the club have seen something in him to offer him a pro contract. Due to Liverpool being like a top team he may end up getting loaned out to the championship and that’s where he’ll have to impress

Somalia did well regarding the circumstances. The standout player was the goalie who was brilliant in both games. Another player who caught my eye was number 8 (bald brother) who looks a solid CDM with tidy feet

Nope not all stars had to work there, there are lots of overnight stars and stars at birth who go on to be big time right away

Well we can’t all be Messi! Inshallah we get a few Ronaldos (CR7) though. Wouldn’t mind a tekky Kaka either.
