They have been funding both sides long before October 2023 because the goal is to maintain support of both parties and influence the public both right and left. The biggest financial supporters of Israel is the Christian Evangelical base who believe all Jews must be relocated to the holy land for the rapture to happen and Jesus tor return. They have been laundering billions of dollars to Israel through their mega churches which are tax exempt. CUFI (Christians United for Israel) has 3+ Million evangelical members and they donate regularly to Israel. That's how they were funding the settlement expansion in the West Bank.
