Most people prefer the state in which Somalia is in today if that means no pre-war decadent western lifestyle. These same people are hypocrites because they live among that decadent western lifestyle (and even partake in it) in the west.

Somalis were not religious back than, check out your parents family albums lots of pictures of women without hijaab or jilbaab. We had few secular socialists reformist but the vast majority especially in urban areas were not overly religious.
