The same way it worked when new world blacks helped coin the ideology to begin with.
Culturally we are western. I'm not disputing that.
Thing is.. that doesn't only apply to AA's but the entire African diaspora who got hemmed up during the slave trade.
Here's where many get it wrong tho.
They weren't able to strip away ALL of our culture.
The 1st documented Muslims in North America came from us.
Theirs a thread on this site about sixir/juju.
Another practice we were able to retain that slavery couldn't break.
We even have words for people that practice juju we call it WOO or roots.
Some older AA's would even threaten their kids with taking them to the woo/root lady back in the day when kids would act up.
Our hairstyles, west African knots,plaits & locs all stem from the motherland.
Our dialects as corrupted as they are still retain a west African syntax.
The Caribbean syntax is stronger due to them being more isolated but even amongst AA's we have segments of our population that sound no different than Caribbean people.
Other AA's call AA's who speak like that Geechi.
& Geechi culture is still alive in the US.
It's also the basis of modern AA speech.
Our staple foods (southern blacks) are still west African based, (watermelon,yam/sweet potato,okra,rice etc.
Distinctly west African & we still eat it today.
I'd never allow anyone.
AA or fam from the continent to feel as if they have the authority to define me.
Both parties are still colonized asf mentally so the opinions of people I view as being little more than white washed slaves themselves matter very little to me.
Africa IS my birthright.
That's all that needs to be understood.
blood is blood that other shit is revisionist white noise.
Most groups on the continent are the byproduct of centuries of intermixing with one another.
Diasporan blacks are no different.
Pan Africanism is the only force capable of truly freeing us in my view.
That's why I subscribe to it.
