Somalia's obsession with welcoming civil servants and elders like they are special and above the average person, has now infected regular people. This man is an NGO worker and he hired people to welcome him at the Airport as if he's a President who arrived in a foreign nation.

This disease started in 1969 when Siad Barre installed a 'cult of personality' that he copied from other communist despots and made people sing for him, hang his pictures everywhere etc.

Somalis need to lobby to remove all this pomp and ceremony from public work, these people need to be humbled and learn to do their work and shut their mouths. Thanks to this ugly culture of treating them like they are holy, these jobs attract people with narcissistic personality disorders.

@Pwyneth Galtrow I cringed also at the cult worship and how they have those 'big golden chairs' and all this filthy elements of 'spending way beyond their national means', there is no point having big golden chair if your people are poor, do they think this will make other nations respect them. It's the total opposite, other nations look at your people well being and see if they have golden chairs not their leader.

They are not competing in the area that counts which is the ppl well being, this is what is measured and determines the status of your country. It doesn't matter if a few people are rich in your society, it's where 99% of the population stands that counts.
