Yeah I heard there was a decent somali community back in the heyday but most moved to Canada and the Midwest which sucks would have loved us to be a population there and compete with the Yemenis in owning a bodega but too bad we are non existent there as of now apart from few models taxi drivers.
MPLS is a decent sized city. More like a smaller Chicago. I found it fun tbh. It has enough people for it to not feel overwhelming and has all the amenities that you could want. Only problem with it is the weather in winter, the snow is a major annoyance.

In my opinion NYC ain’t really a place to live. It’s easier to thrive in MPLS and Seattle. You can make better money there.

minneapolis is full of racists and somalis stick out like sore thumb yh is easy to make money but nyc would have been better more halal shops and much easier to practice the religion. Minnesota should have never been an option.

Ease of business and services is much easier in MPLS. Minnesota is pretty liberal all things equal. There not anymore racist than any other place.

If any state that the government should’ve picked is colorado, georgia or connecticut, NY is not even that good tbh, rent cause like 4k, rats are huge there and people are rude

Somalis in MN are moving to either Wisconsin, chicago, DC and even toronto and boston
I guess that the NY population stopped growing but the DC population are slowly growing since ilhan omar got elected
