This Cabinet is not getting rest, the sexual predator that predated on young girls had messages with racists, antisemitism and eugenics remarks. He also called himself a nazi

Remarks like:

-- "Spreading and multiplying like a Somali"

-- "this desert monkey makes me sick"

-- "We nazis don't really like that jew-y stuff." -Wille Rydman, Finnish minister

--"Even if I procreated with a pitch-black of Nigeria, the child would still have a 26% chance to get green eyes." -Wille Rydman MP, eugenics hobbyist

We maryooleys are now safe, yahuuds will take these idiots down.

he insulted everyone, including them, called himself a nazi. It should be a political end for him

Looks like he's considering taking the news paper behind the exposé to court since the publishings are 'defamatory'. Also, considering how Purra indirectly defended him and the recent blog post about her party, I doubt that he'll resign soon nor be ousted.

You can take the monster in our dreams to court here, doesn’t mean anything. He is just twisting this situation to his own gain.

What's the likely outcome for this guy? A vote of no confidence, resignation or remaining as a minister?

Mark my words, after a few damning reports of controversies of this sort, Finland will end up becoming like Denmark and Sweden where no one will raise their eyebrows anymore and get normalized. And subsequently get little repercussions for their political career.

He was on Elon musk level of freedom of speech. Let him cry a river

It went to swedish media

If you want to read the article in english

The guy has a Swedish surname and I'm assuming that he's part of the Swedish speaking minority. At the same time, he's representing a Finnish nationalist party that want to limit the his people's rights? I know that he switched from the national coalition party recently, but what an odd choice of political party.

lmao, Finno swedes video is being circleted in finland twitter about the situation

Reer Sweden do you understand this dialect? :cosbyhmm:

@GaradShabeel I’m curious about this too, Do Swedish speakers understand Swedish spoken in Finland properly or is it a separate dialect?

Yes, Finnish Swedish is for the most part mutually intelligible with the Swedish of Sweden. They're not recognized as neither a separate language nor a dialect, but a 'variety' of Swedish with their respective dialects. I'd personally split it into three categories and the yellow part of the map has a majority or a significant Swedish native speakers.

Åland(ers), a Swedish-speaking autonomous region of Finland, speak almost like those in Stockholm and surrounding regions. It's hard to tell apart from other mainland Swedish dialects. They're even closer to standard Swedish than those in southern and northern Sweden.

Standard Finnish Swedish taught at schools, media, and spoken in the major cities have a distinct accent, like US-UK English, and different pronunciation of some letters. Otherwise, not much difference.

Nyland and Åboland speak a dialect close to the standard Finnish Swedish. However in Österbotten, aside from Vasa (biggest city), most residents are rural folks. The Swedish spoken there will give you headache. Unlike the other dialects, they have many terms that's not used in Sweden. Even worse with their pronunciations of literally everything. The closet comparison is someone who recently learned UK English trying to understand rednecks in southern US. It would be better for them to form a separate language 😂

Yes, with the exception of one word. But the subtitles was written with Finnish Swedish slang-ish and literal pronunciations. Nevertheless, still understandable.

Finland Swedes understand Sweden's Swedish but not the other way around. Swedes from Sweden can't understand Finland Swedish. This is for various reasons as I came to understand, one of which Finland Swedish is mono tone, while in Sweden's Swedish you need to change the tone to have a meaning. one word can have different meaning based on the tone it was pronounced. like lead (leading) and lead(the element).

But as I understand it, Finland Swedish is more conservative (old style) compared to Sweden's so when Finland Swedes talk they sound archaic, using old words and way of speaking and idioms.

Other reasons, which are many, is that, Finland's Swedish uses some loan words from Finnish language.

I'd say that it's easier for Swedish speakers in Finland to understand dialects in Sweden than the other way around. But I wouldn't say that folks in Sweden can't understand the Swedish in Finland, aside from some dialects from certain regions as I mentioned. But you're right, pronunciations can make it harder.

Finnish Swedish is 'older' than Standard Swedish due to Swedish having been spoken in Finland for more than 1000 years. Swedish was the only official language for several centuries prior to Russian annexation of Finland from Sweden in 1800s. However influences from Sweden decreased over time and by early 1900s with Finnicization and the struggle regarding the Finnish language and nationalism, that's when they became more isolated from Sweden. Hence, the 'standstill' development of Finnish Swedish.
