Somalis are only 30 years in the diaspora,the younger generation are doing better and the next generation will be much betterThe hate would have been easy to ignore if most of us had great incomes and literally didn't have to share spaces with these ignorant people. We still have a lot of low income somalis that are stuck living around a bunch of ignorant people.

The trolls definitely played a big part in the beginning but it’s gotten past that now. Now it’s just racism for no reason. I used to see a lot of anti Somali men tweets mocking their appearance on UK twitter over the past few years unprovoked and it came from UK blacks. Even after blm they were making these tweets. And it’s just gotten worse because of people like yusuf. It’s spread to american j*reers. And now they try and gaslight Somalis into believing we’re the most anti black group.

No, what people are refusing to address is how SLOW some of these men are. They act like little children who have no impulse control or understanding of consequences. I don’t know if you remember but there was a Somali Uber driver who was accused of kidnapping a j*reer woman in the UK and she posted his face and everything on twitter. There were comments from mathows insulting his looks. Turns out she made it all up and she was anti somali.
I have always said that the incels have made things worse for us but at this point you can’t just blame them anymore. If they didn’t exist, Somalis could’ve still received this level of hate from mathows. They are not the only reason for it. A lot of it is unprovoked and has been for years. It’s just reached a larger audience now.

you are right in that some of them had preconceived prejudice against us but do you think the hate would have reached the scale it has today? i honestly doubt it. just think of the fact that most of the "hate" towards us was coming from a very select group(uk mathows) and not the whole of the black community. Intuitively, I feel that the 'jarear' trolling has sparked alot of what we're seeing now, but it is interesting how there were so many tweets in 2012 insulting Somalis for seemingly no reason.
Doesn't matter to me though; I'm not insecure about Somalis' physical features. I see these jokes and move on. As tempting as it is to go scorched earth and fully commit to insulting these people in retaliation, the consequences wouldn't be worth it. This stuff hasn't really seeped into real life, would be a nightmare if it does.

oh yeah for sure not to point fingers at our selves and start internal conflict but i have noticed an obscene amount of pro somaliland profiles on twitter spewing outright hatred towards somalis and for some reason insist on referring to us as somalians. its all a hilarious shitshow just hoped twitter and tiktok gets nuked and we never have to deal with his shit again.
