Then u must be a pagan Savage who dwells on killing other people and dancing around a fire.
Is this a South Somali thing?
Why do you say โpre-Islamicโ as if having native indigenous names from our language makes you a non-Muslim?They're probably pre Islamic names most of Somalia has be arabized
Care to give any examples of names southern Somalis have that end in -ow.
That's a good question ,I've never noticed it.Is this a South Somali thing?
I know in the north we tend to add -ow when calling for one another, like "Waar Abdi Hakiimoow/Faaraxow/Jamacow"
Never heard of a name ending with -ow sound, it must be some langaab thing
It's definitely not from the north, I only hear -ow when you're calling on someone and you add the extra -ow like "war faraxow"
In present-day Mogadishu region, it is quite common. They even use it as official names and not nicknames.
In Djibouti/Somaliland/Ogaden/Puntland/Gedo nobody has names ending in -ow. As @Armadillo said it seems popular with Hawiyes.
