Yeah, it always cracks me up listening to these Christian Right-Wing types. A lot of them are Catholics too which is funny because the founders came from Protestant Anglo-Saxon backgrounds. These are basically Ellis Islander cadaans trying to foist their Christian conservatism onto America and are getting help from the religious cohort within the Anglo-Saxon culture like these various Evangelicals, Mormons and so on.
The actual founders were the types of Englishmen who are more spiritually forefathers to modern secularist atheists who admired Ancient Rome, the Renaissance, the Enlightenment and the Islamic Golden Age.

Their skepticism toward religion actually comes from real historical experiences. Christianity in early medieval Europe was extremely restrictive , politically oppressive, crusading, and limiting intellectual life similar to what we see in historical Ethiopia.
What began to lift Europe out of that stagnation was increased contact with the Muslim world and the transmission of preserved Greek and Roman knowledge through Islamic scholars and the surviving Byzantine tradition.
So when these modern right-wing types claim to defend “white Christian tradition,” they’re not actually protecting some enlightened Western heritage. They’re defending the legacy of an oppressive, feudal, planter elite mindset that persisted in the Southern United States , a system that actively resisted the democratic, intellectual, and pluralistic foundations that truly shaped America.
Myron is a well known rage baiting engagement farmer who will say anything to enrage people. That’s his only way of getting engagement since the redpill movement is dead. George Washington was the most "silent" and neutral-seeming of the major founders on religion; he rarely opened up about his personal beliefs. As president in Philadelphia he regularly attended Sunday services at Christ Church, but on communion Sundays he would always leave before the sacrament was administered. This is the Muslim equivalent of showing up for the Jumca Qutbahs and slipping out right before salat.
His pastor, Rev. James Abercrombie, eventually rebuked this from the pulpit, warning that it was a bad example when men in “elevated stations” consistently turned their backs on the Lord’s Supper. After that, Washington stopped attending on communion Sundays altogether (though he still came on non-communion Sundays). According to Abercrombie’s later account, Washington remarked in private that the rebuke was just, but that since he had “never been a communicant,” beginning to receive the sacrament now would look like an ostentatious display of zeal, so he chose simply not to be present on those days.
This is like a political leader in the Muslim world being called out for never praying after Jumca Qutbahs and saying, “Fair point, ya sheikh, but I’m not going to start now just to look pious,” and then quietly stopping attendance of Jumca services altogether or still insisting on his practice of leaving before salat.

Thomas Paine in particular was so outright critical of Christianity and religion that the others distanced themselves from him because they still saw Christianity as "useful" for rousing the rabble, hence why they would issue days of prayer and fasting whenever things were rough in the country despite holding the above beliefs. But Paine was just on some shit and would've basically been an almost militant atheist in today's world.
Jefferson is also pretty funny in that he was so against the "superstition of Christianity" that he re-wrote the bible without all of those elements. He created his own version of the Bible. Around 1820 he took physical copies of the New Testament in four languages, cut out the verses he liked with a razor, and pasted together a new gospel called The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth. He deliberately removed every miracle, supernatural claim, prophecy, and reference to Jesus’ divinity, keeping only Jesus’ ethical teachings and parables. It ends with Jesus’ burial and no resurrection. Jefferson saw this as extracting the “diamonds” of Jesus’ moral philosophy from what he called the “dunghill” of superstition. See here.

What’s bizarre is that Puerto Rico is technically part of the United States, yet they talk about Puerto Ricans as if they’re some completely foreign group.
