So i was watching Netflix- the new Persuasion by Jane Austen was playing. I heard good reviews from Millennials and i thought let me give it a try. Now, some background, Persuasion is Austen's last novel. It's a somber, gloomy story about a woman who regrets turning down a marriage and then she gets a second chance 8 years after when the man returns being rich. Out of the six novels of Austen, I like this one because it has matured romance. So i logged into Netflix and saw horrors. In the interest of making, it modern and spicey- they included minorities in the mix. They made leading lady's sister married to a Black man. They made Mr. Musgrove into a black man. Her kids had large nappy hair. I almost closed my Netflix but i kept an open mind, and also i was bored. I thought i should give it a chance, and i wasn't feeling like racist today. Then appeared Mr. Eliot-- a love interest for Anne in the book- played by an Asian actor who cherished that opportunity. When i saw him enter with his Chinese eyes, and gleeful face; suddenly i was inspired with a prodigious demonic energy of closing my Netflix with thorough delight.
