My past experiences with arabs makes it really hard to sympathize with Palestine

Good point. I believe the issue is more complex though.
I support Palestine right to be a free country because it's morally right to do so, the behavior of arab individuals or arab society in general should not prevent us to do what's morally right.
Southafrica is another example, many somalis are being killed in Southafrica but I still think the ANC/Mandela struggle was on the right side of History.
Of course we shouldn't exaggerate though. As somali I have personally more problem with Arab countries like Libya who are trafficking our people for organs and stuff like that. I wish people would boycott anti black Arab countries just like they do with Israel but that's our job as somalis to fight our own battles .
There is no muslim ummah, this is a lie that they use to gather support for Arab issues and ignore non arab issues , we somalis are on our own. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't support people who are being oppressed.

Anyway one thing that i like about hardcore somali culture is that we don't care about what others think. We shouldn't allow ourselves to be victims especially as diaspora millenials/ Z generation. Who cares what arabs call us,we know for a fact we were never anyone's abeed. If an old school somali uncle is called abeed by an arab he would just smack him in the face and call him so many bad names that the guy would run to his mother crying.

You can't really go full genocidal like people use to due to cameras and social media.
Makes sense. But they don't need to nuke 'em. They could employ soft genocide tactics akin to what the Chinese are doing to the Uyghurs and face less blow back on top of that.

It's important we talk about stuff like this and Im glad this topic was made as opposed to it being swept under the rug so to speak.
Why is palestine so important?
Well, without palestine, then the israelis would have free scope to dig under qibli mosque. ( in case you didnt know masjid al aqsa is the whole compound, qibli mosque is the one with the black/silver dome and the dome of the rock is the golden dome one).
They believe the arc of the covenant is literally under qibli mosque which is why you don't see qibli mosque on google searches as much you'll always see the golden dome of the rock. Now, we know from hadith the arc of the covenant is in lake tiberias/sea of galilee and its rapidly drying out and that mahdi will be the one to get it. This is truely the era of deception/dajjal.. end of times is a few decades away.
it will be interesting to see how the israelis demolish qibli mosque. The saudi response has been to * aim to plant 10 billion trees in the coming decades as part of an ambitious campaign to reduce carbon emissions and combat pollution and land degradation* all in line with arabia turning green as per the hadiths.
The UAE is on friendly terms with israel because they understand this is israel's era unfortunately and it's best suited to benefit in the coming decades.
Buckle up we are in interesting times.

Somalia has been in civil war for 30 years plus and no arab power has stopped the fighting when they could. We were also invaded and they did not intervene. Thats enough to tell you we should mind own business.

That's the thing though if you play that game then syria, libya, iraq and palestine all gone maybe after egypt, turkey and jordan we are literally next lol. Not a good game to play.

No. Its about consequences. There has to be some or people wont learn. They did not support us. There has to be equal consequence until they get tired of it and are forced to behave correctly.

when the famine hit Somalia a lot of Arabs sent caravans of food and medical support to Somalia.

I'm talking about people, not the government.

my sudanese friend told me something similar. about egyptians being racist af when he went there while his time in morocco was far nicer. ill still support and empathise with the people in gaza but it seems like there is a notable racism issue among arab countries. my time in saudi arabia was really nice but thats probably because the people in the holy cities are far more religious and thus far more welcoming. i liked to believe the racism issue was played up but hearing it from my own friends mouth kinda changed my mind

Does not excuse the point that for over 30 years their nations have chosen when they could easily not to intervene and instead even watched us get invaded.

It was the US who invaded you if you don't know already Gulf states are allied with USA. Only a doqon would expect help from so called "muslim" governments.

Like the title suggests, I live in a city that has the most arabs in Canada and when I say I have never experienced racism from caadans but always from arabs as recently as yesterday and I can understand Arabic so I think a lot of Somalis are ignorant to their true personality because they hide behind a facade a lot of the time. But when I was younger in middle school they would verbally and physically harass me and sexualize my body, it got so bad a group of girls literally cornered me and beat me up for no reason and the Somalis at the school never participated but decided to be bystanders. Soon after my mom learned about everything and the school literally did nothing so she took me to Africa with her, I also had a family member who went ‘missing’ in Lebanon and to this day we think she’s dead because she mentioned how abusive her employers are.

Literally the worst people in the world, idk why the Muslim ummah blindly follows them and thinks that’s what true Islam is. So when I see Somalis supporting and crying for Palestine it really does disgust me, I understand the hatred for yahuud and feeling sympathy but when arabs have a problem everyone has to drop what they’re doing and support. What happened to the ughyurs who are being equally oppressed by Chinese atheists? Where are there protests? Where is the outrage? I know it’s wrong to feel this way but at the end of the day these people wouldn’t piss on your leg if you were on fire so why cry for them? Why protest and chant for them when they call you Abeed everyday?

idk I guess this is a rant but I feel like the truth of the matter is the reason people haven’t opposed the situation and most people are supporting is because the world chooses who to support based on how light that person is and who to harass and belittle based on how dark they are.

Thanks for reading my Ted Talk lol

Somalis fighting Somalis, who do they stop? Somalis? Lol

And I want to add to that Palestinians are the worst form of Arabs, I said before that I think what the Jews are doing to them may be a divine punishment from the most high.

This gives the same attitude as “black person did me wrong, so now I’m racist” or “black person did me wrong, so now I’m silent on black issues”

People regardless of their backgrounds, are against the apartheid regime behaviour in Israel, you having bad experience with arabs somewhere in this world, doesn't mean you discourage ppl of condemning what the apartheid regime is doing.

It's unbelievable that everytime when someone mention that Israel is bad, some random Sspot came like: yeah I had a racist Arab neighbour, Idk y ppl support racists arabs.

Arabs and North Africans have also supported Somalis economically in the past, and we’ve always been good partners. I’ll defend most Arabs.
