I never realised it before, but the war in South Centra aka Koonfuria has an ethnic dimension. Its basically Maay Maay + Somali Bantu VS D block and H block.
Al shabab is mainly Somali Bantu and Maay Maay from Baay, Bakool, Shabella regions, Hiiraan, upper Jubba. It's a protest movement. They have been marginalised for decades by H block and D block. They died in hundreds of thousands in famines in 90s and 00s. Their regions are the least developed in all Somali regions. They have nothing to lose from Al Shabab, but everything to gain
The areas that al shabab controls reflects Benaadir + Ashraaf + May + Digil dialect areas. We all know who lives in those regions
Federal government is H block and D block, who control other areas such as Mogadishu, Gedo, Jubaland and Puntland. but they are a minority overall in South Central. That's why Al Shabab controls most of the south and why the so called Federal Government fails to expand beyond Mogadishu.
Until the peaceful hard working Somali Bantu + Maay Maay people are given their rights and equal power sharing in Mogadishu, there will be no peace. They deserve posts such as Prime Minister + President of South Central federal government. The war with Al Shabab will otherwise continue.
