A Halimo in my old neighborhood was slightly on the chubby side and made few mistakes when she was young including sleeping with bunch of Farahs,the gossips spread like a wildfire and she had a hard time finding a decent guy within the Somali community , some of her close friends suggested to her that she should widen her search parameters because of her tarnished reputation.

After a year or talking to different guys all over the world, she finally met a tall, handsome and charismatic guy from Hargeisa on Facebook, within few months of continuous phone and video calls they agreed to get tie the knot.

The excited Halimo flew to SL and had a simple wedding with few friends and relatives, of course she managed to cover all the wedding expenses from her $12 an hour job because she was America and the groom was unemployed.

The young bride full in love stayed with her husband for two months and flew back to the States without any sign of pregnancy.

Back in the States this Halimo was paying the house's rent every month and other expenses as well, her husband was a jobless and she would also support her husband spoiling him with 300$ a month which is a lot and could feed a whole family in SL.

The Halimo was busting her ass working overtime for another 9 months saving each penny,when she managed to save enough money she flew back home to see her husband,this time she planned to spend 3 months with him hoping she will get pregnant this time.

At the end of the three months she was disappointed to find out she wasn't pregenant as they planned, frustrated,she flew out of SL and decided not to stress over herself, she reminded her self that it was upto Allah to give out kids and she should be patient.

The Halimo and her husband had a routine where they use to video conference each other every night before bed and were constantly in touch at all times.

One day the Farah started making excuses ignoring her calls or turning off his phone very often, this seemed very odd to him and was big red flag,she realized something was definetly wrong with his behaviour, the curious new wife decided to find out what was keeping him occupied most of the time and decided to snoop around a little.

She contacted one of his khat-head friends who was also present at their wedding asking for his help and offered him some money if he finds out what her husband is upto discreetly and report her back.

Few days later her husband's friend called her back and spilled the beans for her, he told her that her husband is in fact is married to another young girl just a month after their first honeymoon two years ago.

The snitch also added that the couple have a kid together and even stay at her rented house, he also added that her husband usually moves his young wife and son to another relative house whenever he was expecting her arrival.

The snitch friend also provided devastated Halimo with the new bride's facebook account ,the FB page contained pictures of both of her husband and his new young thing holding the baby togheter, poor Halimo thought her world was crushing and was heartbroken, she felt she was used and taken advantage of and played.

She decided to confront him and at first he tried to deny the allegation but after she showed him the screenshotted and date stamped pictures he changed his tune.

The cornered Farah did his best to find an excuse and a reason why he married this young women, he said he only married het to see if he can have kids and not shooting a blank, he was felt humiliated and a less of a man not being able to bread her, with a convincing cry and emotional calaacal added he didn't meant to hurt her feelings,adding that he thought he was actually infertile and strictly married this women to prove he was capable of impergananting a women(there was no testing facility in the country at the time).

Long story short she asked him for an immediate divorce and wasn't buying his lame excuses ,he blatantly refused giving her the Talaaq and told her he loves her and he is even willing to divorce the other wife infront of her, months pass and he is still begging her to take him back.

Do you think she should forgive him and demand to divorce the new bride? Or let him keep the new bride and get back with him?

If she ran with the wolves on the streets and she can't get much out here and she genuinely rock with that guy, then she shouldn't trip and be cool for the culture.
If she ain't cool with it, nin cadaan ha guursato. Ego is the last thing she should worry about. She should be more concerned with her biological clock tbh

It is a human nature to become curious and also it is very common and legal back home, remember in Islam you can marry as many as four.

Islamically hidden marriages aren’t halal. I don’t know why Somali men think they can outsmart their creature or most of y’all are undercover atheists.

In my opinion. Maybe, SHE is the reason. Zina and "chubby" does not work well in her benefit and so, she cannot be calling the shots.
She went to Somalia/Somaliland cause she could not get a man in the west, I don't think she is in the position to be calling the shots.
