My cousin is ranaway

All types of women marry.

But the reality is that in our community, women are expected to find their own spouses. We don't have arranged marriages, nor community marriage services. So, if you do not interact with the opposite gender it will be hard for you to marry. Obviously everything is qadr.

Also, what are you going by? As a woman who is constantly surrounded by other women that is my observation. The whole point of my post is that family and communities need to start helping their kids marry.
The woman constantly surrounded by other woman still is more likely to get married then one with 50 different guys messaging her. Women donโ€™t really know how the man brain works Guys internal psyche doesnโ€™t like independent women, it makes them๐Ÿคฎ .

We know, you lot scream it from the rooftop every opportunity you lot get.

You are talking about an extreme perspective. Also, what do you mean by 'independent woman'? Most Somali women young and old are pretty independent. Many of our hooyos have businesses, many of us went to uni, work ect and most Somali men have no issues with this. As a community, our women have always been pretty autonomous.

Also, independence has nothing to do with talking to men. I'm confused.

We got a call from my auntie , my dad's sister , her daughter has left home.
She messaged them saying she's left home because she was under too much stress .
She's the youngest of 7 brothers and she never left home to go out with friends, because my auntie told her a girls job is to look after her house, cook and clean.
She was out only one night with friends and came home and her mother attacked her saying , you are my only daughter, you're always out with girls who have other sisters who stay home and clean , but you shouldn't be like that you're my only daughter.
I feel sorry for my cousin , but I feel like my auntie is a control freak.
When I saw the title I was like: cirka ha ka dhaco. But it seems like she is right.
And Idk why I feel that this is made up story:reallymaury:

I think all men not only Somali have internal problems with independent women.

Ask yourself what traits do men like for in women. I have never seen someone say independent.

Okay, if you have issues with women getting an education and working, then that is a personal issue. Women don't get themselves educated or make money for male approval, we do it to survive and most sane men know this and even encourage their daughters to get educated and get a good job. The average Somali abo pushes their daughter to do this. Every human needs an education and have a skill.

The only types of men that I have noticed that have an issue with women that have an education or a job they can fall back on are abuser types. Having an education and or a job is a basic human need.

So you saying my wife working in office dressed like a man with bunch of non Muslim men that are constantly hitting on her makes me an abuser.

you are really smart.

A. Why would she be dressed like a man? We are Muslim and most of us wear hijab and abaya.

B. Why would men hit on her? If she conducts herself as a Muslima and a married woman, then why? I've not had gaal men hit on me as I make sure not to act overly familiar.

C. Is the only job available office work? Some of us are teachers, doctors, small businesses, coding/software development from home ect.

Its one thing for you not to want a wife that works in an office, but its another issue if you have problems with her having an education and working in general. There are women that work from home and are highly educated, they are still very much independent.

I spoke about abuse because a woman who has no education or money to fall back on is much more likely to stay in an abusive relationship because she literally has nowhere to go. You can cheat, hit and disrespect, but with nothing to her name or any form of independence, where would she go?

Angelina itโ€™s up to you vet the person you with so the donโ€™t abuse you, and this is a cliche that every girl uses. I am not taking this lightly I know women get abused, especially back home. This independent women thingy invented by beyonce is not the way. I have seen lot of older Somali women discard their husbands because the government/welfare became their new husbands. And now they have sons in jail daughters in their 30โ€™s with mental health issues.
