I agree, I feel like all somalis have the potential to be really tall. I’ve never noticed a stark difference between Ogadens and non-ogadens.

Maybe height is an internal Somali vs coastal Somali thing perhaps. The ones in DDSI are probably more insulated from the few Ajnabis that land on our shores. This is my suugo science theory, we cannot pretend those Semites did not leave some throwback genes.

Most of the Bari folks are short on average compared to mjs from Nugaal and mudug all the way to DDs, i think it’s the diet, camel and goat meat is more nutrient dense than fish.

The tallest I've seen are MJs, from DDSi to be precise, and not mixed with OG or Dhulos either.
My family is tall, men and women alike, and I don't just mean my nuclear family.

I assume there could be a factor where coastal Puntites are affected by marrying those Semites such as Arab Salah over time. Perhaps similarly with other coastal Somalis. We need real studies though.

My maternal side who also are reer mahad from Mudug have that more lean, tall «geeljire» look. So yes I believe coastal people from Puntland probably have more semite DNA than others.
