I feel I would have been 5'8 in Somalia but since I was well fed growing up I'm 6'0. I bet many Somalis don't reach there maximum height potential because of poverty. Although, I suppose they get to have higher testosterones due to whole food diet.

DDSi is 'Galbeed' aka the land that is occupied by the Ethiopian Regime.
The Semites I am referring to are Carab Saalax. The relatives I have with Carab Saalax DNA, have these 'Arab' traits. Wider bones, stockier bodies, bigger hands and feet, not size but width. They don't present very Somali at all, they don't even have faro-dheer and other elongated Somali features or body types. I actually mistook some of them for being Asian or something.

Good point. Although I've learnt that Somalis didn't just have one job, someone could herd livestock, fish and also trade at the same time and so forth. The strong 'nomadic' image in Somalia has made many of us forget the diversity in Somali lifestyles.

Usually what I notice is;

1. Maariin/Dark sculpted faces
2. Light skinned with rounder features,

And the darker the ethnic Somali, the looser the hair type.

Somali genes are fascinating.

I believe it’s because most Somali rulers and leading figures come from nomadic backgrounds compared to farmers or fishermen who are more calm naturally

It's linked to diet mostly, good quality milk and genetics. On average, Somali men I've observed tend to average around 5ft 9 and that's usually men in their 40's and up, the younger generation will grow even taller.

My great grandfather lived in eyl and was a geel jire but he was also a great swimmer and diver and would regularly eat seafood. I think the whole seafood historical stigma is greatly exaggerated.
