You're making valid points, but I'm not sure if I agree with the bolded part. He's part of the PP (regime) party. And they are very adamant to destroy the ethnic federalism at any cost - their main objective. Abiy has spoken openly about this numerous times. They know that it will be hard to achieve this in one go, which is why they have resorted to "breaking up" current regions into smaller ones, (partly to minimize the power they otherwise would have, and that can challenge the central gov't).

Also if you have seen Cagjar speak, whenever someone criticize the regime, he always comes out talking about I am the federal gov't or I'm part of it. So when you're criticizing Abiy/PP, you're criticizing me. So it's very clear to me that, they share the same vision too.

Hahah, thanks for your well wishes. But most of us don't agree with him and likewise most other in Ethiopia. Somalis, Oromos, Tigrayans and Afars (including other ethnic groups) are hardcore pro-ethinic federalism. And we compromise majority of Ethiopia, which is why Abiy/PP are following the footsteps of his predecessors, in preventing to fully implement a fully democratic system, since that will diminishes their objectives. I've listened to the DDS-opposition and they seem to be creating an umbrella of an opposition, on how to oust Cagjar/PP (legally), at least from DDS, since they are unpopular. From the main DDS-parties ONLF, FEP and CCS. And I do agree, especially with regards to our recourses. I was listening to a long ass twitter space (5h+), where the FEP party chairman of DDS, Ibrahim Dheere (a former UWSLF fighter against Ethiopia, until their peace-agreement in 2010), was speaking. And he basically was calling it a lie, the power-sharing agreement that came out a few years ago, regarding how the gas/oil revenue found in DDS should be shared between the fed & other reg gov't. It was interesting listening to him, to say the least.
