What do you guys think of a political union between Muslim countries? There are 1.8 billion Muslims in the world making up 24% of the global population but there is almost zero cooperation/unity.

Even though most Muslim countries are poor, as a single bloc we would be able to advance our geopolitical interests.

The problem is that we have snakes among us like in the Gulf Arabs who would act as a western trojan horse. There is also the issue of terrorism if we had free movement.

There are many obstacles but the thought of a Muslim Union helping us establish Somaliweyn, helping Pakistan get back Kashmir, rescuing the Rohingya in Burma, and rescuing the Uyghurs in China is too awesome.

@Crow This would be wonderful but I'm afraid we have too many enemies from within. Ghadaffi proposed a unified Africa with the golden dinar as its currency. 4 years later, his country was invaded and he was subsequently shot in the head by his own citizens.

When the status quo is challenged, the powers that be will seek to liquidate its opponents who seek to bring about change. Israel and her allies would never allow this, a fragmented Ummah is in their interests. Every dog has his day saxiib, they'll face justice in due time In sha Allah.

A little. I wouldn't want to go as far as something like the EU but I would like military cooperation/defence pacts as well as a single trading bloc.

So something inbetween the ceremonial OIC and the EU.

The poor Muslim countries around the world and Turkey should make their own block, corporate with each other, Deny accesss to the all the rich Arab countries that are undermining the sovereignty of their fellow Muslims in their own countries.

They should have their own corporate military like NATO, trade agreements and free marking between themselves.

I dont think it will work out at this time. Most leaders in the muslim countries do not represent the interest of muslims in general. More like how to protect their regimes.

All the odds are against unity of muslims and muslim countries.

You are cursing others because they don’t help us, how can one help a self-destructive entity? Arabs have poured billions of dollars into Somalia since we joined the Arab league, where is the money?

There’s not a Christian or Buddhist union of nations because these countries are realistic enough to know that it’s unworkable and a futile program.
