Tik Tok is a mobile app used to create skits, dances, and other forms of entertainment to please a relatively young audience. This somali girl creates a skit where she plays as herself and her sister to portray a scenario wherein she attempts to mask the strong aroma of a drug known as marijuana with perfume. Marijuana is culturally and religiously unacceptable in her household; hence, her attempt to mask it. The sister questions the reliability of the perfume, her doubt is portrayed by using a voice over which is a mechanic of tik tok. She later on acknowledges the smell of marijuana and evacuates the premise in order to not be affiliated with the smell. The humour in this is the relatability of younger audiences who have gone through the struggles of hiding their culturally unacceptable actions, another factor which contributes to the comedic value of this piece is the situational irony. A muslim somali girl doing marijuana is quite comical... in a sense. Finally, the relevance of the audio and how in sync it was adds a touch of allusion to the skit.
