Is it time to move the capital to meel la wada leeyahay?

It should've been moved to Baidoa a long time ago.

Darood and Hawiye are playing music chairs with the President and Prime Minister positions, but the capital should've gone to Raxanweyn. Majority of those classed as Dir under 4.5 way iska maqan yihiin.

May baidoa the federation creators who saw 'aragti' while everyone was in a centralized frenzy(aragti xumo) in the 1950s trusteeship era be the future capital of Somalia. May they also learn from mogadishu capital experiment who doesnt realize regions neglected themselves to help build mogadishu since 1960-1991 and saw no benefit.

Even their private properties right wasnt respected. Hamar sucked on all somali aid, loans, taxes. They must be sidelined from all future development to repay this. Let hamar suffer what @SPMLegend godey gacalo suffered markay diideen gacalnimo the capital was reallocated to jigjiga and now it's thriving. I envision the same for baidoa capital when mogadishu status is discussed and their capital status removed.

Bad idea people of baydhabo are known to be cunsuri to maxaa tiri speakers so it won’t work.

The only 3 capital contenders are

1. Galkacyo
2. Erigavo
3. Baidoa

None are perfect and were discussing from bad to worse goal post only. Each have strengths and weaknesses, and Somalis should openly choose the least worst option, not waste their time as if their some 100% perfect good option.

Having the capital next to the sea has been thought of as a stupid idea since ancient times no country in the world has their capital right next to the sea

The sea problem is natural disasters from oceans or potential attacks from the sea. Didn't hamar experience that even in recorded history with portugese? that's why harar was deep in the center also. All coastal towns pre-recorded history must of suffered either destruction from outside attacks or the coast-line environmental disaster like u see now with sand storms but also the coast pushes more in-land over time swallowing what was past towns.

In-land capitals is definitely the best option and even within in-land you need various considerations such as location where it can be defended from all corners, which is a strength and point for galkacyo but their other points for baidoa, erigavo.

Erigavo is too far and too close to the ocean. Galkacyo is also the same as muqdisho multiple armed clans killing each other everyday. We need somewhere with one clan but also welcoming to all clans. Maybe we need a new city fresh from the ground.

Welcoming ppl well that's one consideration
Strategic location to provide national access is another
Weather and geological as in-land, mountains, coastal is another

We can list other important characteristics, provide different weights to each on it's importance, and score them and who wins the highest grade is selected as capital not that their is perfect score for any.

Erigavo will score highly on welcoming ppl, cross clan cohesion not green lines proving a capable isimo who can also safeguard somalis. Weather. Only bad score is location to defend. Geologicaly its mountains has pros/cons. But their total score might outweigh baidoa and galkacyo who knows. Every option will have strength/weaknesses its only about comparisons with others and selecting the best among them by seeing their total score result.

The PL capital selection had these dimensions

1. Security and location to access/defend from all corners in PL
2. Weather
3. Geological such as in-land vs coastal or mountains
4. Welcoming ppl and we did weigh up cross clan towns vs 1 clan towns

It didn't score 100% when compared to Bosaso, but it scored the highest when discussed and ranked for benefits, losses, strength, weaknesses. Maybe as Somalis we can apply those PL capital selection parameters when discussing a future somali capital model. I don't care how regional govt select their capital and their local considerations since it doesn't effect my people or region, but the Somali capital affects us all and we need to ensure we have a wise model to discuss within on 'caqli saliim or rationality' not 'emotional clan biases'

Dangoroyo is good location

We r not centralizing federal/regional govt capital to 1 gobol or town even. It's not in the federal spirit to diversify repeating centralism to yourself doesn't make it better but repeats the same pitfalls, maybe that should also be another factor to grade, which will harm baidoa as it's regional capital same with all regional govt capitals and their gobols. Galgaduud-Waqoyi Galbeed-Bay-Juba dhexe-Nugaal are out of the question as their regional govt capital and gobols.

It's literally down to Galkacyo vs Erigavo. But I think Gedo is overlooked who are the least corrupt when their leaders r compared to others as they don't help their tol or leaders when in power.
