Lol being patriarchal society does not mean women have no authority or rights or do not influence the community at large ancient Greeks and romans are proof, those sources they have never entered Somalia nor even done any field studies - 19th century- 20th century Colonialists listed how the tribes and ethnic Somalis they came across the women had much more freedom and authority and where not submissive.

Women as a gender go through a lot. Remove the physical weakness in comparison to males but also consider the pain of the child birth process and the fact that they are subconsciously as an unwritten rule looked upon as a burden on their families and wider society.
This in itself has to be addressed, and we should all face these problems head on. We have to learn how to respect, love and accept women truly as men. We have to celebrate femininity and proclaim that without the female gender we would all be nothing.
Having said that, these crimes are not the right way for women to behave. I think both males and females need to appreciate their differences with love. Women have to teach their sons to understand the beauty and importance of the female and true femininity. In turn as men we can then teach our sons.
We are different lets celebrate and respect our differences and lets grow together rather than this new trend.

From bleaching, to gaining weight to wearing jilbabs everywhere. All of that was because of what Somali MEN today enforced on their women.
Somali men mock dark skin. Somali men belittle women who havenβt undergone fgm and refuse to marry them. Somali men body shame their women and influence them into becoming fat. Somali men cat call, beat and harass their women into wearing jilbabs/niqabs when we didnβt used to.
Iβve been to Somalia. I canβt even walk outside in just an abayah without weird comments from older men telling me they can see my naaso. In Egypt I can walk around without a hijab and just jeans and a T-shirt. Somali girls would not do any of this to themselves if it werenβt for the men. Be serious. Men in Somalia control everything and have all the power. Somali women in Somalia today are oppressed.
UN is full of nonesense.

Tribalism is fuelled by women also FGM is carried out and fuelled by them, just look at all the Clan states and new flags that pop out spread by Naago mostly wallahi even my own mother told me Somali women are the drivers of Qabilism and beat the drums like the tribes of pre-Islamic Arabia did when their women would dance and beat drums during tribal wars. I have video of Somali women recording and dissing Qabils whilst their is piles of dead body behind her.
Liberia ended civil war and had first female African president in Africa you know why? because the women came together and refused attention to their husbands and also isolated their male counterparts and protested to stop the bloodshed and tribalism and to unite - this led to civil war being ended by women and the women that started that movement became the countries president and today they are at peace and united. Whilst our women are the drivers of Somaliland nationalism and every new state and Qabil state that pops up.
Liberia is Proof Men are instilled and influenced from childhood whether to be tribalists or not.

So all the women during the prophets time who wore niqab and covered their face including the Mother of the believers Aisha and all the wives of the companions did it for cultural reasons? no women in Mecca or Medina wore full covering before Islam or during pagan era please just stop talking on things without knowledge Niqab and full covering is real Hijab and the way of believing women and not Hypocrites.

Just be yourself when dating and make sure to stress that women have "too much freedom". And make sure to also say "females".

Women and men should both be made examples of to deter Crimes, i said too much freedom due to the biased treatment and overlooking women get in our community. Try again I was raised in household where the Father for 6 years period was the provider and also cook and cleaner for 8 kids whilst my mother and little sister where in Africa being provided for in mansion with maids, my father never got his way and has always had soft spot for his wives and daughters since its cultural thing i know Somali women are hard headed studying my sisters bipolar tendencies in her marriage makes me think if its a cultural thing too.
