In that case I think you should give Abdirashid 2nd spot, he was way more popular than Aden Adde and took the seat from him. I don't know why Adde is getting so many votes on popularity, he is on his own lane as first President.Didnt vote but obviously Siad he has the normies on lock as much as I blame him for destroying Somalia. Next place is debatable between Abdirashid and Cadde
I dont count anything post 91’ as a real government/presidency of Somalia
Farmaajo had juice when he was first electedWhoever voted for HSM, Cabdullahi Beerlaawe and Retard Farmaajo need to slap themselves.
anyone after 91 was a claimant president not a real one. they were either weak or guarded by foreign soldiers. In that case I think you should give Abdirashid 2nd spot, he was way more popular than Aden Adde and took the seat from him. As much as I want what you said to be true but Sharmarke was corrupt, nepostism and lots of shady stuff was going on during his presidency.. and please sxb you keep making me defend Siad Barre despite how bad his later reign was but he was not solely responsible for ruining Somalia. All parties are to blame. After capturing Xamar, all groups could've stopped fighting and agree on something but we all know that didn't happen. We need to be honest without having bias if we are to move forward.Aden Adde The only President to Hand over the Government better than when he came, Shirmaake should be second because he was doing his duties and killed by Jealous people. Siad Barre ruined the Country, Abdiqasim is prob 3rd because he helped form the Government Standers we Use today , Abdullahi Yusif should be the worst for Bringing Ethiopian Troops and getting ed Slapped by a weak General.
Well said, people are bias when it comes to this topic but don't realize how much corruption and nepotism was going on pre-1969. You couldn't even get a job if you didn't know a colonial language. We had no Somali written language, our resources were being sold off - so many things that are happening today. There was no centralized army, barely schools outside of Xamar which resulted in low literacy rate, and even the currency wasn't regulated. The coup was welcomed by all Somalis when it happened. What Somalia was able to achieve from 1970-1980 was nothing short of remarkable (minus the 77' war). There is no point including any President post 1991 as we don’t have a real government and are a failed state whether Sheikh Shariif, Farmaajo or HSM.
Pre 1969 not much was achieved, only sentimental crap like “first african democracy, peaceful transfer of power blabla”. Siad Barre is the only answer but that’s because no other President had an opportunity to achieve anything.
The Ogaden war was the biggest mistake of Barre, we should have only supplied arms to the rebel groups in Ogaden and supported them whilst not getting directly involved. Imagine if he only focused on building up Somalia, and used the army to solidify his rule. There wouldn’t have been a civil war and collapse of the state. It will take a good 10+ years to return Somalia into what it was in 1980.Well said, people are bias when it comes to this topic but don't realize how much corruption and nepotism was going on pre-1969. This video is might seem pro-Kacaan but Dafle explains it perfectly.
Yes it was a huge mistake, he got "verbal" confirmation that the US would support him instead of signing a deal and insuring weapons got to Somalia. Jimmy Carter later refused to aid Somalia. If a President like Nixon or Regan were there I think things would've been different as they would have sent weapons to any country that was fighting soviets. Inshallah things will get better, all we can do is pray and hope people wake up and stop having a group think mentality. At the end of the day we are Somalis who are surrounded by enemies, no one is winning besides them if all we do is fight for something that is insignificant in the long run.The Ogaden war was the biggest mistake of Barre, we should have only supplied arms to the rebel groups in Ogaden and supported them whilst not getting directly involved. I wonder if somalia would've survive the Arab Spring if Siad Barre was never toppled. The Ogaden war was the biggest mistake of Barre, we should have only supplied arms to the rebel groups in Ogaden and supported them whilst not getting directly involved.
