I put Books to the Test of Life
In this current era, particularly in the western world, it has become customary to express certain sentiments. When guidance is offered based on what is observable and openly displayed, as that is what society permits judgment upon, individuals are often reminded of this norm. Interestingly, it holds true regardless of whether the adviser happens to be a transgressor or even a murderer; their counsel is still heeded.
Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“The most hated speech to Allah is when a man says to another man, ‘Fear Allah!’ And he replies, ‘Worry about your own self!”
(al-Silsilah al-Saheehah by al-Albaani, no. 2598)
